Leading Project Teams: Emerging Technologies and Smart Design

Attendees will receive an overview of emerging technologies and their potential impact on professional engineers. Tom Conway, P.E., will share his experiences supporting US military efforts with technology planning and implementation involving UAVs/drones, 3D deliverables, cybersecurity, cloud computing, big data, and more. He will provide insights into the history and interconnectivity of these technologies and what it may mean for the future of the profession.  

This seminar includes management techniques, technology forecasting and application including the implementation of smart design processes, such as “sprints,” to get specific projects done under compressed schedules. 

Thomas G. Conway, P.E. has over 30 years of experience planning, developing, and procuring technology solutions for the US military. He has a BS and P.E. in Mechanical Engineering, MS in Bio-Medical Instrumentation and patents in infrared technology. He has presented in many DOD, trade, and commercial venues, as well as published in many periodicals including Mechanical Engineering magazine. He is the owner of Conway Diversified Services.
