Speaker: Ted Spinard, P.E./QDC
Ted currently serves as the Development Services Director for the Quonset Development Corporation (QDC) and is responsible for planning, engineering, construction management, and technical services. Ted will be joining us to speak about the QDC’s ongoing $90-Million Pier 2 Infrastructure Improvements Project at the Port of Davisville (the Port) located in the Quonset Business Park.
During the past decade, the Port has grown into one of the top Roll-on Roll-off (Ro-Ro) ports for finished vehicle logistics, consistently ranking in the top 10 in all of North America. Pier 2 is the primary pier used in the Port and was constructed in the 1950s by the US Navy, measuring 1,200-feet-long by 650-feet-wide. The pier is well beyond its design life and is in need of rehabilitation in order to remain operational. As part of his presentation, Ted will be discussing the proposed improvements effort, including the upcoming design/construction.
