Bio

Harold “JR “Reddish, P.E. is currently President of Binkley & Barfield (BBI); part of the DCCM Group of Companies headquartered in Houston, TX.  BBI is a full-service civil engineering firm with offices throughout the State of Texas.  JR has had a varied career which has spanned over 40+ years.  

JR Reddish attended the Citadel in Charleston, SC on a Professor of Naval Science Scholarship.  There, he served in numerous leadership positions and obtained a BS in Civil Engineering in 1977.  Upon graduation he reported to Naval Flight School in Pensacola, FL where he obtained his “wings of gold” in 1979.   JR was subsequently ordered to the USS Midway as a carrier pilot assigned to VA-56.

In 1982, JR transitioned to the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps.  He was selected for graduate school and attended Texas A&M 1986.  He graduated with a Master of Engineering in Ocean Engineering and subsequently served in numerous challenging and demanding positions to include Staff Ocean Engineer for the Supervisor of Diving and Salvage, Commanding Officer of Underwater Construction Team One and Public Works Director of Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland.  He retired as a Commander after 20 years of active duty and entered the Private Sector. 

JR joined S&B Infrastructure, ltd in 1998 and assisted the firm with obtaining Federal Work and other related engineering engagements.   He held the positions of Deputy Director of Construction Management, Vice President of Operations and was promoted to President / CEO in 2005 -2018.  He was instrumental in the growth of the company

Community and Professional involvement are very important to JR.   As a member of TSPE/NSPE he has served at the Chapter, State and National level.  He has held positions of Chapter President, State President and is currently the NSPE State Delegate for Texas. He has served on numerous boards and committees to include the Governor’s Business Council, Greater Houston Partnership Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Houston Engineers Week Committee, and the Texas Engineering Foundation.  JR is a Fellow in the National Society of Professional Engineers and Society of American Military Engineers.  He was selected as the Engineer of the Year for Houston, TX in 2017 and Texas Engineering Foundation Distinguished Engineer in 2013.  He has advanced the engineering profession by supporting multiple educational programs for primary and secondary students to include Future Cities Competition, Math Counts, Zoom into Engineering and other similar activities.  He is an Eagle Scout and contributed over 10 years of leadership to the Scouting Program.

JR is married to Constance Reddish and they have three children, Diana, James and Lauren and seven grandchildren.
